ANDREW WONG JOINS THE SUMMERSET BOARD

Summerset Group Holdings Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Andrew Wong
to the Board of Directors. Dr Wong is registered with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Public
Health Medicine specialist.

Dr Wong is currently Managing Director of MercyAscot Hospital Group and Healthcare Holdings
Limited and is a director of a number of medical organisations. These organisations cover a
diverse range of areas such as surgical hospitals, day surgeries, diagnostic radiology and cancer
care.

Summerset Chairman Rob Campbell said Andrew’s mix of medical and commercial experience
will bring a unique skill set to our board table. “Care is an essential part of our offering for
customers and over the last three years we have increased the weighting of care beds and
serviced apartments in our villages and added secure dementia also. We will continue to deepen
this focus on care and support in response to customer needs.”

The appointment brings the Board of Directors to six members, all of whom are independent.
Andrew Wong joins the Board as a non-executive independent director on 1 March 2017.
