Spark makes change to executive team
Spark New Zealand announced today that its Chief Transformation Officer, David
Havercroft, is formally stepping down from his executive duties as a member of the
Spark leadership team effective from 1 July 2017.
Spark Managing Director, Simon Moutter, said, “After an exceptional career with Spark,
David has indicated he would like to begin the next phase of his career in governance
and advisory roles.
“As signalled in April last year, at the time we announced a number of changes to our
leadership team, I had asked David to take on a temporary role as Chief Transformation
Officer, to help me oversee all the moving parts of the next phase of our strategic
transformation. Now all the pieces needed to effect this next phase are in place, David is
moving into an advisory role.
“To that end I have asked him to continue working with us on a part time basis in a
consulting advisory role from 1 July onwards, providing strategic consulting on key
technology, business transformation and simplification initiatives to both the executive
team and to the audit and risk management committee (ARMC) of the Board.
“David has been a key member of the Spark executive team for over seven years now,
helping navigate the technology transformation to a fast-moving, future-oriented,
competitive provider of digital services. In my view, David has overseen the biggest
technology overhaul of any major company in New Zealand - critical in setting Spark up
for the next phase of its transformation strategy.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to work with David and am pleased we’ve been able to
put in place an arrangement that allows Spark to continue to benefit from his
considerable skills and experience.”
