Freightways announces addition to Board of Directors
Freightways Limited (Freightways) announces the appointment of Abby Foote to the Board as an
Independent Director, with effect from 1 June 2018.

Abby Foote is a professional director based in Christchurch with over 10 years’ governance experience,
including various NZX-listed and Crown-owned companies. With qualifications in both law and
accounting, Abby has experience in a range of senior management, finance and legal roles, with a focus
on corporate finance and commercial transactions. Her experience covers a number of diverse areas,
including mergers & acquisitions, treasury, structured finance transactions, web-based platforms,
management of large projects and strategy development and implementation.
Abby has a strong analytical and strategic focus, coupled with a critical awareness of corporate
governance and risk management issues.
Abby is currently a director of Z Energy, where she chairs the Health, Safety, Security & Environment
Committee; a director and chair of the audit & risk committees of The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa
Tongarewa, TVNZ and Livestock Improvement Corporation Limited; and a director of Sanford Limited.
Abby’s past governance appointments have included Transpower Limited, Diligent Corporation, BNZ
Life Insurance Limited and the NZ Local Government Funding Agency Limited.
In welcoming Abby as a Freightways Director, Chairman Sue Sheldon said “Abby’s experience
complements that of other Freightways Directors and adds strength, particularly across finance, risk and
commercial transactions. She also brings a strong focus on corporate governance and experiences from
a broad range of business types and styles.”

At the company’s Annual Shareholders Meeting on 25 October 2018, shareholders will be asked to elect
Abby Foote to the Board of Freightways Limited.
