Change in senior managers

CHANGES TO SENIOR MANAGER ROLES

For the purposes of NZX Listing Rule 10.6.1(d), Michael Hill International Limited (ASX and NZX: MHJ) (Company)
advises of changes to the roles of certain employees who are ‘Senior Managers’ under the NZX Listing Rules.

Australian Retail Management

The Australian retail segment of the Company’s Michael Hill brand of the Company has grown to over 170 stores
across 13 regions. Recent changes have seen a reduction to Emma & Roe brand store numbers. Consequently the
Company has made the decision to change the Australian Michael Hill retail business organisational structure, by
splitting the regions between two Australian retail general managers.

Kevin Stock currently holds the position of Retail General Manager, Australia (for the Michael Hill brand). Tishara Mina
currently holds the position of General Manager Emma & Roe. From 1 July 2018, Kevin will retain management of
seven Michael Hill Australia regions and Tishara will take on management of six regions and will also continue to lead
Emma & Roe on an interim basis.

With the Company’s existing organisational structure, Kevin and Tishara will remain Senior Managers for the purposes
of the NZX Listing Rules in their new capacities.

Human Resources

As part of the Company’s strategic planning process, the Company has identified the need for additional support and
will shortly commence a search for a Chief People Officer (CPO). Stewart Silk currently holds the position of Group
Human Resources Executive. Stewart will remain in his existing role until the CPO is appointed and will then move
into a role managing the human resources operations team.

With the Company’s existing organisational structure, Stewart will remain a Senior Manager for the purposes of the
NZX Listing Rules only until the CPO is appointed and commences.

The above represents the current decisions and intentions of the Company; further information will be provided if the
Company’s decision or intention changes or the Company has new information, in accordance with the Company’s
disclosure obligations.
