Appointment of Independent Non-executive Director
The company announces the appointment of MARY DEVINE ONZM to the board of directors as an
Independent Non-executive Director.
Chairman of Directors, Warren Bell, said “We are very pleased Mary has agreed to join us. She has
strong retail knowledge and expertise in both the Australian and New Zealand marketplaces, and has
worked with a variety of leading Australasian brands and retailers.”
She has held senior executive roles in a number of large private and listed companies including
Managing Director of Ballantynes department store, CEO of Ezibuy - Australasia’s largest direct
retailer of apparel and home décor, and CEO of Max Fashions. She has also been the CEO of Carter
Group Limited, Managing Director at international wholesaler Arthur Ellis, and Managing Director of
her own brand Survival Apparel.
For over a decade Mary has also participated at governance level across a range of industries from
retail, energy and insurance through to consumer goods. Her current and previous directorships
include; Briscoes Group Limited, Top Retail Limited, McKenzie & Willis, Foodstuffs South Island
Limited & Foodstuffs NZ Limited, Christchurch City Holdings Limited, IAG New Zealand Ltd, Meridian
Energy Limited and Devine Consultancy Limited.
Mary’s ongoing commitment to the New Zealand business community was recognised in 2013 when
she received the Honorary Queens award of an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM)
for services to business. She is currently a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors, she is a
Fellow of the New Zealand Institute of Management and she holds a number of qualifications
including a Master of Business Administration (University of Canterbury) and a Bachelor of
Commerce (University of Otago).
