Fletcher Building announces changes to its Executive Team

Auckland, 16 July 2018: Fletcher Building today announced two new appointments to the

roles of Chief Executive Building Products and Chief Executive Construction on its Executive

Team.

Michele Kernahan, currently Chief Executive Construction, will move into the role of Chief

Executive Building Products, and Peter Reidy, currently Chief Executive KiwiRail, has been

appointed as the new Chief Executive Construction. Both appointments are effective early

November 2018.

David Thomas, currently serving as the Interim Chief Executive Building Products, will return

to his role as General Manager Winstone Wallboards once the appointments are effective.

Commenting on the appointments Fletcher Building CEO Ross Taylor said: “Our new strategy

clearly defines our ambition to grow our core operations in building products and Michele is

ideally placed to lead this, bringing with her significant experience in the sector through her

prior General Manager roles with Golden Bay Cement and Laminex Australia.

“We are also pleased to have David resuming his leadership of Winstone Wallboards, and in

particular, focusing on delivering Fletcher Building’s major capital investment project into a

new Auckland-based plasterboard manufacturing facility.

“At the same time we remain focused on stabilising our Construction Division, and in

particular, increasing our focus on lower-risk, more profitable sectors such as infrastructure

and roading. Peter has a strong track record of leading infrastructure businesses, including

in his current role at KiwiRail and previously as Chief Operating Officer Infrastructure Services

with Downer Group in Australia. I am confident Peter will build on the work Michele and her

leadership team have commenced to strengthen the Construction Division and lead it into a

new phase of sustainable growth.”
