Attached is Meridian Energy Limited's monthly operating report for the month of August 2018.
Highlights this month include:
▪ In the month to 10 September 2018, national hydro storage decreased from 116% to 94% of historical
average
▪ South Island storage sat at 86% of average and North Island storage at 124% of average on 10
September 2018
▪ Meridian’s August 2018 monthly total inflows were 82% of historical average
▪ Meridian’s Waitaki catchment storage at the end of August 2018 was 113% of historical average
▪ Storage in Meridian’s Waiau catchment was below average at the end of August 2018
▪ National electricity demand in August 2018 was 1.3% higher than the same month last year
▪ August 2018 saw warmer than average temperatures across much of New Zealand, with below average
rainfall for the South Island
▪ Meridian’s retail sales volumes in August 2018 were the same as August 2017
