MEDIA RELEASE

Alex Ball appointed CFO of EROAD

17 September Auckland Transport technology services company EROAD today is pleased to

announce the appointment of Alex Ball to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

EROAD Chief Executive Steven Newman said that he is delighted that Alex is joining the EROAD

team. “Alex has proven experience as CFO across some of New Zealand’s largest companies

including Transpower, TelstraClear and Vector as well as working for leading accountancy firm

Ernst & Young in New Zealand and overseas.”

“Alex has a wide variety of experience in finance, transformation, risk, regulatory strategy,

stakeholder relations and engineering” Mr Newman said. “Alex’s strong skill set builds out EROAD’s

senior executive team during this key period as EROAD prepares for increased demand in North

America with both larger and intrastate trucking fleets looking for ELD solutions, while at the same

time EROAD is broadening its market entry in Australia and transforming its customer support

systems globally.”

“EROAD has a strong reputation for creating innovative products to solve complex regulatory

problems as well as delivering excellent customer service” said Mr Ball. “This is an exciting time to

be joining EROAD and I look forward to the challenge as EROAD embarks on its next stage of

growth.”

Mr Ball holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) and is a Member of the New Zealand Institute of

Chartered Accountants. He will join the EROAD senior executive team in January 2019.

About EROAD

EROAD modernises road charging and tax compliance and health and safety compliance for road

transport by replacing paper-based systems with easy-to-use electronic systems that also improve

fleet management. The company is headquartered in Auckland, New Zealand, and listed on the

New Zealand Exchange (NZX). Its US business is based in Portland, Oregon, serving customers with

vehicles operating in every US mainland state, growing outward in concentration from the

Northwest. In 2009 EROAD introduced the world’s first nationwide electronic road user charging

(eRUC) system in New Zealand and, in 2017, more than 50% of heavy transport RUC was collected

electronically, representing a rapid transition to e-commerce on a voluntary, industry-led basis, due

to the cost-savings and benefits to customers. EROAD is also a leading provider of health and safety
