Sale of Ordinary Shares from Treasury

The Board of F&C Investment Trust PLC (the Company) announces today that it has sold from
Treasury 400,000 ordinary shares of 25p each at a price of 675.00 pence per ordinary share.

Following this transaction, the Company’s issued share capital stands at 561,819,016, of which
18,138,304 shares are held in Treasury. Therefore the total number of ordinary shares with voting
rights in the Company is 543,680,712.

The above figure (543,680,712) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the
calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to
their interest in, the Company under the Financial Conduct Authority’s Disclosure Guidance and
Transparency Rules.
