This monthly traffic update from Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL) is generated with assistance and data from Statistics New Zealand, the New Zealand Customs Service, Airways New Zealand, Immigration New Zealand,
Queenstown Airport Corporation and AIAL. International and Domestic passenger movements are actual. A refinement in transit reporting from Immigration New Zealand in June 2018 has resulted in Auckland Airport restating Transit

December 2018 Monthly traffic update

2.4%
Auckland Airport experienced total passenger growth of 2.4% in December 2018. International passengers (excl. Transits) were up 3.3%,
while domestic passengers grew by 2.0% compared to December 2017.

International passenger growth (excl. Transits) was predominantly driven by additional capacity on Asia (+38,000 seats), particularly to
Indonesia (+21,000 seats) and Singapore (+14,000 seats). In addition, increased services to Houston, Honolulu and the new service to
Chicago drove capacity increases on North America (+16,000 seats).

Key Points:
• Hong Kong Airlines has announced it will cease its daily Auckland-Hong Kong service effective from 22 May 2019.
