Cooks appoints new CFO; annual report delayed
Cooks Global Foods (NZX.CGF) announces the appointment of Richard Chew as its new Chief
Financial Officer (CFO). It also advises, due to the delays caused by the transition between CFOs,
that its annual report will not be filed by today’s deadline.
Mr Chew, a chartered accountant who has been recognised in the New Zealand CFO awards in
the finance leader of the year (2016) and the finance team of the year (2017) categories, comes
to Cooks with more than two decades of senior management experience in sectors ranging from
media, advertising and marketing to retail, music and property including commercial finance roles
with Allpress Coffee & Les Mills.

August, is currently running his own finance consulting business
XL CFO and is a non-executive director of digital content creation company Mob Live and Mahi
Tahi Media and was Global CFO and founding shareholder of 90 Seconds, a cloud based video
production company that recently achieved significant investment from Sequoia Capital, one of the
world’s largest Venture Capital funds. 90 Seconds has relocated to Singapore and Richard will
maintain an advisory role with the company.
Cooks Executive Chairman Keith Jackson said: “Richard is an energetic and skilled finance
professional and offers Cooks a good balance of commercial, financial and operational experience.
We are looking forward to him joining the team.”
The timetable for the preparation of the annual audited accounts for the year to 31 March 2019
was disrupted with the recent departure of Cooks previous CFO. However, Cooks now expects to
be able to release its annual audited accounts within a week. The company is working closely with
its auditors, BDO Auckland, to achieve the earliest possible release of the accounts.
No adjustments to the preliminary results for the 2019 financial year have been identified and
agreed to date, however, Cooks believes that any adjustments required will be non-cash in nature
and will therefore have little material impact on the group’s funding position.
