OCEANIA HEALTHCARE RECEIVES ANOTHER MAJOR RESOURCE CONSENT
84% OF DEVELOPMENT PIPELINE NOW CONSENTED
Oceania Healthcare is pleased to announce that it has obtained another significant resource consent
from Auckland Council for the redevelopment of its Elmwood Village in The Gardens, Manurewa,
Auckland. The resource consent was granted on a non-notified basis.
Oceania Healthcare already had resource consent to construct a new 142 room aged care centre on
land adjacent to the site that was acquired in 2016, and this new consent allows Oceania Healthcare to
construct five new buildings, comprising 229 new independent living apartments and a new community
centre, as part of the redevelopment of the site. The property is in an excellent location opposite the
Botanical Gardens in Manurewa and the redevelopment will build upon Elmwood’s strong reputation for
delivering the highest quality care to its residents.
Oceania Healthcare Chief Executive Officer, Earl Gasparich said “We are very pleased to have received
the consent for the redevelopment of Elmwood Village. Following on from the resource consent for our
Waimarie Street development, this is another excellent outcome and essentially completes the resource
consenting phase of our key strategic redevelopment sites in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Nelson and
Christchurch. With the receipt of this consent, the proportion of our development pipeline that already
has consent (including units and beds currently under construction) has increased to 83.6%.”
