S YNLAIT APPOINTS DIRECTOR,
OPERATIO NS
Synlait Milk Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Toomey as Director, Operations,
effective Monday 9 December 2019. Mark will be based at Synlait Dunsandel.

Mark is an experienced supply chain and operations executive having worked for, and managed, some of
Australasia’s leading manufacturing facilities over the past 25 years. Mark’s most recent role was National
Operations and Supply Chain Manager at ASX listed GrainCorp.

Mark’s additional career highlights include, almost 12 years at food and beverage company, Lion, where he
held several roles including, New Zealand Operations and Logistics Director, and prior to that was
Operations Director for the company’s Tooheys Brewery.

Mark also has an extensive understanding of the dairy industry from his time at Dairy Farmers, where he
held senior operations and strategy roles. Mark was appointed Lion’s Queensland Operations Director –
Dairy following the sale of Dairy Farmers to the company.

Mark has also worked for the Kelloggs Company and Goodman Fielder.

In addition to the excellent manufacturing, operations and supply experience Mark will bring to Synlait, he
has also held leadership roles in sales, finance and strategy.

Mark’s appointment follows the resignation of Neil Betteridge in July 2019.
