SALE AND ISSUE OF SHARES

The Company announces the sale of 188,509 ordinary shares of 25p each from
shares held in treasury and the issue of 311,491 new ordinary shares of 25p each, at
a price of 1005.0p per share.

Following this sale, the Company’s share capital is as follows:

Ordinary shares in issue with voting rights: 124,256,783
Ordinary shares held in treasury: nil
Total issued share capital: 124,256,783

With effect from today, the total number of voting rights in the Company is
31,064,195 (1 vote for every 4 shares held excluding treasury shares). This figure
may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they
will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their
interest in, The Bankers Investment Trust PLC under the FCA’s Disclosure Guidance
and Transparency Rules.
