Fiona Mackenzie Announced as Newest Board Member for Sanford Limited

New Zealand’s largest seafood company Sanford Limited (NZX: SAN) is delighted to announce the

appointment of Fiona Mackenzie as the newest member of its board of directors.

She will join the Sanford’s board effective 1 February 2020. Her appointment is a consequence of Mr

Paul Norling’s retirement which took effect at the conclusion of last year’s annual shareholders

meeting.

Sanford Chair Sir Rob McLeod says he is delighted Ms Mackenzie will be joining the Sanford board, as

the company continues its evolution towards higher value products with a firm focus on

sustainability.

“Fiona brings exactly the right qualifications, skills and experience that we need for the role on our

board and we are delighted to gain the benefit of her expertise.”

Ms Mackenzie is currently Head of Direct Wealth at Jarden. She is also a director on the Ascot

Radiology board and is on the board of the Outward Bound (NZ) trust. Before joining Jarden, she was

Head of External Investments and Partnerships at the Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation

Fund, overseeing a $6 billion portfolio and chairing their investment committee.

She was Head of Traded Products, and later Head of Markets at NZX from 2009 to 2011. She

previously held roles with Morgan Stanley in New York and San Francisco; and worked in e-

commerce product development at Credit Suisse in New York.

Ms Mackenzie says she is looking forward to being part of the board of a progressive and

development focused company like Sanford.

“This is a company with a fantastic and ambitious vision, to be the best seafood company in the

world, and a determination to be part of the global Kiwi story of punching well above our weight. As

Sanford moves its offerings up the value chain, I am excited to be there to help provide guidance and

a focus on growing investor wealth, as well as meeting all of Sanford’s goals around sustainability and

development.”

Fiona holds an MBA from Columbia Graduate School of Business (New York) and a BCom

(Accounting)/LLB from the University of Otago. She still loves to travel, these days accompanied by

her partner and two children, whom she has already introduced to the power of investing via their

Kiwisaver funds.

Fiona will take up the role as Chair of the Audit, Finance & Risk Committee following Sir Rob

McLeod’s recent appointment to Chairman of the Board. She is considered by the Board to be an

Independent Director.
