SCOTT TECHNOLOGY UPDATE RE COVID-19
Automation and robotics solutions provider, Scott Technology Limited (NZX: SCT) continues to monitor
the impact of COVID-19 on both its people and its business.
Scott’s first commitment is to the health and safety of its people. The company’s business is global in
nature, with projects and teams operating around the world. Given the rapidly evolving situation
around COVID-19, Scott Technology is in the process of returning employees back to their home
countries where possible. In addition, the company is managing the impact of local Government
constraints, most notably within Europe, which has seen businesses closed and communities in
quarantine.
This is affecting Scott’s ability to deliver on a number of projects, in Europe, North America and
Australia in particular. While the full extent cannot currently be estimated, given the rapid changes
and the unknown timing of the situation, Scott expects that 2020 earnings will be materially impacted.
The company has a Response Plan in place and is continually monitoring and reviewing the situation,
including assessment of opportunities to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on earnings.
CEO of Scott, John Kippenberger, commented: “Our first priority has been to protect the health of our
global team. We will also continue to work closely with our valued customers across our international
operations in order to deliver quality technology solutions as and when we can under the COVID-19
environment.”
Scott will be announcing its Half Year results for the six months to 29 February 2020 before the end of
April 2020.
