•Mass market electricity and gas sales of 383 GWh(May 2019:

395 GWh)

•Mass market electricity and gas netback of $101.63/MWh(May

2019: $88.21/MWh)

»The Wholesale business recorded:

•Contracted Wholesale electricity sales, including that sold to

the Customer business, totalled 666 GWh(May 2019: 767

GWh)

•Electricity and steam net revenueof $86.12/MWh(May 2019:

$88.26/MWh)

•Electricity generated (or acquired) of 724 GWh(May 2019: 867

GWh)

•The unit generation cost, which includes acquired generation

was $23.19/MWh(May 2019: $34.85/MWh)

•Own generation cost in the month of $22.26/MWh(May

2019: $31.23/MWh)

»Otahuhu futures settlement wholesale price for

the 3

rd

quarter of 2020 (ASX):

•As at 8 June 2020: $112/MWh

•As at 31 May 2020: $102/MWh

•As at 30 April 2020: $88/MWh

»As at 8 June 2020, South Island controlled

storage was 87% of mean (31 May 2020: 93%)

and North Island controlled storage was 51% of

mean (31 May 2020: 43%)

•As at8 June 2020, total Clutha scheme

storage (including uncontrolled storage)

was 69%of mean

•Inflows into Contact’s Clutha catchment

for May 2020 were 64% of mean (April

2020: 83%, March 2020: 90%, February

2020: 189%, January 2020: 68%)

Regional demand change (%) on May 2019

»New Zealand electricity demand was down 1% on May 2019 (down 3% on May

2018), COVID-19 L4 and L3 lockdown were in place throughout April:

•Cumulative 12 months demand for April 2019 to May 2020 of 41,277 GWh is

down by 0.4% on the prior comparative period.
