Dame Therese Walsh to leave Contact Board


Independent director Dame Therese Walsh DNZM, FCA has advised that she is resigning
from the Contact Energy Board of Directors.

Rob McDonald, Chair said, “Dame Therese has advised that she will be leaving the Contact
Energy Board to focus on her governance roles with Air New Zealand and ASB. Dame
Therese has made a considerable contribution following her appointment in September 2018
particularly in her role as Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee and member of the People
Committee during a time of management change at Contact. We are disappointed Dame
Therese is leaving us but understand her rationale given today’s announcement of her
appointment as Chairman of ASB and the refocus of her governance portfolio.”

To assist with an orderly transition of the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee Dame Therese
has confirmed she will remain a director whilst the Board undertake a director search. She
has advised she will be leaving no later than the end of August 2021.
