PGG Wrightson Limited* (PGW) Chair, Rodger Finlay has announced the appointment of Dr Charlotte
Severne to the Board as an Independent Director effective from 18 June 2021.
Mr Finlay said “I am delighted that Charlotte Severne will join the PGW Board. Charlotte’s mix of skills
with a strong background in the science sector together with her role and experience as The Māori
Trustee will add to the diverse strengths we have around our Board table and complement our existing
governance competencies.
Dr Charlotte Severne (Tūwharetoa, Tūhoe) was a commercial scientist and executive for 20 years. She
was also a Deputy Vice Chancellor at both Lincoln and Massey Universities. In 2017 she received an
ONZM for her contribution to Science and Māori. In 2018 she was appointed, The Māori Trustee, with
various governance and agency roles for whenua Māori across New Zealand. Charlotte brings extensive
experience as a science and research strategist and is looking forward to applying that specialist
knowledge in supporting PGW’s extensive and growing technical product offerings.
“I am also pleased to announce that the Board has appointed Sarah Brown as Chair of PGW’s Audit
Committee. Sarah joined PGW as an Independent Director in April 2019 and is well placed to take on
this additional responsibility in joining Joo Hai Lee and myself as fellow Audit Committee members.
Sarah is a commercial lawyer, Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors and has extensive
governance experience.” Mr Finlay said.
