Further update to Change in Senior Manager

Heartland Group Holdings Limited (Heartland) (NZX/ASX: HGH) announced in July that Laura Byrne,
Chief Operating Officer, had signalled her intention to leave Heartland by the end of the year.

Heartland and Heartland Bank Limited (NZX: HBL) (together, Heartland) are pleased to advise that
Mike Grenfell has been appointed to the role of Chief Operating Officer of HBL with effect from 8
November 2021, subject to the Reserve Bank of New Zealand confirming its non-objection to this
appointment.

Mike is an experienced senior leader, having held a range of executive positions at the New Zealand
Automobile Association (NZAA) and Cigna Life Insurance. In his most recent role of Chief Information
Officer at NZAA, Mike had overall responsibility for technology delivery including IT Operations,
Architecture, Security, and Digital and established the digital transformation vision and programme of
work for the organisation.

Mike joins Heartland to lead the ongoing technology projects and continue the development and
execution of Heartland’s technology strategy.

A handover will be completed prior to Laura’s departure from Heartland. On behalf of the Board,
senior management and employees, we thank Laura for her significant contribution to Heartland
over the last 8 years and wish her all the best for the future.
