Impact of Cyclone Gabrielle
MARKET UPDATE
17 February 2023
Impact of Cyclone Gabrielle
Cyclone Gabrielle has caused a considerable amount of damage to parts of New Zealand.
T&G Global’s immediate priority is the safety and welfare of our people, seasonal team members,
partner growers and the community.
In Hawke’s Bay and Gisborne, the cyclone has impacted key infrastructure, with power and
telecommunication outages, and some roads and bridges impassable.
Some flooding has occurred in T&G’s and our partner growers’ apple orchards, and T&G’s
Whakatu post-harvest facility does not currently have power. Detailed assessments of all facilities
are underway and this will be completed over the coming week, as access to some orchards opens
up.
A further market update will be made following the completion of the assessment.
