Fisher & Paykel Healthcare unveils its smallest and lightest mask yet with the F&P Nova

Micro™

Auckland, New Zealand, 9 April 2024 – Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation Limited today

announced the launch of the F&P Nova Micro™ nasal pillows mask in New Zealand for the

treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Weighing less than 40 grams (1.4 ounces), the new compact mask features minimal, easy-

adjusting headgear and a soft MicroPillows™ cushion that nestles gently within the nostrils and

inflates to conform to the patient’s nose. The design provides stability and freedom of movement,

allowing patients to sleep in their preferred position.

“Nova Micro was created for patients wanting a mask that doesn’t compromise on comfort and

performance,” said Andrew Somervell, VP Products and Technology. “‘Less is best’

was the mantra for our teams throughout the development process, and the result is our smallest

and lightest mask yet.

“We see this as another strong addition to our mask portfolio. With this new nasal pillows option,

along with our recently released F&P Solo AutoFit mask and the F&P Evora Full, we will be able to

cater to a wide range of patient needs and preferences,” said Mr Somervell.

Sales of F&P Nova Micro have commenced in New Zealand and will begin in Canada in the

coming months. Launches into Australia, Europe and the United States will follow later this

calendar year.

The headgear is one size, with three different MicroPillows cushion sizes (small, medium and

large).

The mask is supported by positive internal validation trial results:

• 97% of users rated the feel of the F&P Nova Micro mask pillows in their nose as “soft” or

“very soft”

; and

• 100% of users rated the overall performance of the F&P Nova Micro mask as “good” or

F&P Nova Micro is the lightest and volumetrically smallest Fisher & Paykel Healthcare CPAP therapy mask. The

considered volume of the mask excludes the tubing. A smaller mask can result in less mask contact on the face, having

the potential to reduce unwanted effects such as discomfort, facial irritation, and red marks left on the face.

38 out of 39 participants rated the feel of the F&P Nova Micro mask pillows in their nose as “soft” or “very soft”. Internal

validation trial conducted by Fisher & Paykel Healthcare on 39 participants in the United States, 2022.
