Booster Innovation Fund adds Bontia Bio to its investment portfolio

Booster is pleased to announce the addition of Bontia Bio to the Booster Innovation Fund (BIF) portfolio,

which is held through NZ Innovation Booster LP – an underlying fund that was established as a joint

venture between the Booster group, Wellington UniVentures and Otago Innovation Limited.

Bontia Bio operates in the synthetic biology part of the life sciences sector. It specialises in utilising

proprietary synthetic biology technologies to create scalable production systems for commercially

valuable compounds from nature. Bontia Bio was formed in 2024, and is classified as seed stage, with its

technology origins being from Victoria University of Wellington.

BIF will make a cash investment of up to $350,000, with an initial investment of $225,000. Following this

initial transaction (and issue of additional units to fund the purchase), Bontia Bio will represent 1.1% of

BIF’s investment portfolio which currently has over 35 active companies, and a net asset value of $20.9m.

Investors can continue to purchase units in BIF on the NZX or can subscribe for units in the fund as part of
