Rakon director appointment
13 October 2025 – Rakon Limited (NZX:RAK), a world leading manufacturer of precision timing
and frequency control solutions, today announces in accordance with Listing Rule 3.20.1 the
appointment of Gregor Barclay as a Non-Executive Director, effective from 13 October 2025.
The Board has determined in accordance with Listing Rule 2.6.2 that Mr Barclay will be an
Independent Director.
Chair Lorraine Witten says: “We are pleased to welcome Greg as a Director of Rakon. His
strategic governance and business acumen will be an asset to the Board and his appointment is
an important step in rebuilding the Board with a majority of Independent Directors.”
Mr Barclay is a founding partner of Claymore Partners, a specialist legal and commercial
advisory firm, and a governance professional with extensive experience across the commercial,
legal and sports sectors.
He currently serves as Chair for NZX and ASX listed Smartpay Holdings Limited. In addition, Mr
Barclay is a director of several private companies including international trading company Pacific
Forest Products and leading New Zealand environmental consultancy Boffa Miskell. Mr Barclay
is also a current director of New Zealand Rugby and is a past Chair of both New Zealand Cricket
and the Dubai based International Cricket Council.
Mr Barclay is a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and a Chartered Member
of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. He holds a LLB from the University of Canterbury and a
post-graduate DipBus from the University of Auckland.
Mr Barclay has been appointed by the Board in accordance with Rakon's Constitution and will
put himself forward for election at the next Annual Meeting of the company.
Following Mr Barclay’s appointment the Rakon Board comprises five directors, three of whom are
Independent Directors.
