Air New Zealand provides update on share buyback programme 21 November 2025
Air New Zealand Limited (the Company) announces that, pursuant to section 4.14.2 of the NZX

on Tuesday 25 November 2025.
The programme commenced in March 2025 and provided for repurchases of up to NZ$100 million

The Company will continue to manage capital in line with its Capital Management Framework and

Last month, Air New Zealand unveiled Koru, a bold refresh of its loyalty programme designed to
deliver greater recognition and value for its more than five million members. From April 2026, the
airline will introduce refreshed tier names, new and enhanced benefits, and the new Koru Black tier,
created to recognise the airline’s most loyal members.
“As we look ahead to the next chapter of the Airpoints programme, our focus remains on making
travel more meaningful and more rewarding, because for us, it’s not just about flying from A to B.
It’s about recognising the journeys that matter to our customers – whether that’s connecting with
friends or family, travelling week in and week out for work, chasing opportunity, or seeing the world,”
Larsen says.
“We'll continue to evolve our Koru programme, bringing on new partners, unlocking more ways to
travel with Air New Zealand using Airpoints, and creating fresh opportunities to earn rewards.”

Air New Zealand recognised for taking Kiwi excellence sky-high 21 November 2025
As 2025 draws to a close, Air New Zealand is ending the year on a high, named the safest airline
in the world, the best in the South Pacific, and one of the world’s leading carriers.
From seats to sustainability, New Zealand’s national airline has collected a swag of international
awards that celebrate people, innovation and entertainment, and proudly fly the flag for Aotearoa.
Named Oceania’s Leading Airline and Oceania’s Leading Airline Brand at the World Travel Awards
2025, as well as World’s Safest Airline 2025, Air New Zealand also took home Forbes Travel
Guide’s Innovation of the Year for its revolutionary Skycouch seats, judged by an invitation-only
6
panel of travel experts and luxury industry professionals recognising excellence in innovation and
customer experience worldwide.
Air New Zealand was also recognised as the Best Overall Airline in the South Pacific for 2026 by
APEX, while readers of USA TODAY’s 10BEST Awards voted the airline among the world’s
favourites, placing 2nd for Best Airline, 2nd for Best Cabin Crew, 2nd for Best Airline Food, and 3rd
for both Business Class and Inflight Entertainment.
The airline also ranked as the Third Best Airline in the World in AirlineRatings.com’s 2025 global
rankings, further cementing its reputation as a world-class carrier delivering safety, quality and
innovation across every touchpoint.
Across the ditch, the Kiwi carrier is being recognised too – named Australia’s most trusted airline in
the Finder Awards as well as taking out the top value frequent flyer programme.
Air New Zealand has also been recognised for its commitment to sustainability, winning the Asia
Pacific CAPA Environmental Sustainability Award of the Year for 2025 and acknowledged by IATA
for leadership in Sustainable Procurement.
Air New Zealand Chief Customer and Digital Officer Jeremy O’Brien says the recognition reflects
the talent, creativity and commitment of the airline’s people.
“It’s fantastic to see Air New Zealand recognised alongside some of the biggest and best carriers
in the world. It’s a reflection of New Zealand and where we come from, as well as our people on the
ground and in the air who work tirelessly to deliver an experience that feels genuinely Kiwi.
“These awards belong to our team, and to our customers, who continue to support and believe in
what we do. Our teams have ensured our manaaki and care continue to shine through, and it’s that
unwavering commitment that’s clearly turning heads on the global stage,” says Jeremy O’Brien.
The recognition caps off a huge year of progress and innovation for the airline. Highlights include
retrofitting its 787-9 Dreamliners with all-new cabins and inflight entertainment systems, launching
its first electric aircraft programme with BETA Technologies, unveiling a new uniform celebrating
Aotearoa’s culture and creativity, and supporting 19 regional events across New Zealand through
its Regional Events Sponsorship programme.
Beyond the skies, Air New Zealand was again named New Zealand’s Most Attractive Employer, a
title it has now held for three consecutive years.
“Awards are wonderful recognition, but they’re also motivation to keep moving forward,” says
Jeremy O’Brien. “We’ll continue to innovate, evolve and do what we do best, taking care of our
customers and showcasing the very best of New Zealand to the world.”

7
Air New Zealand is lifting the curtain on a major refresh of its loyalty programme. From April 2026,
the Airpoints programme transitions to Koru – a new name and a new era of recognition.
Air New Zealand CEO Nikhil Ravishankar says Koru is one of the most significant evolutions of the
loyalty programme in nearly 30 years.
“Airpoints has been an important part of our story and now, that story is evolving. Koru symbolises
care, connection, and renewal.
“For our members, the name Koru inspires pride, belonging and a sense of place, especially when
travelling far from home. Now it’s at the heart of loyalty at the airline.
“We’ve listened to what matters most to our members. We’re proud to be introducing a more
rewarding experience that feels simpler, more personal, and unmistakably Kiwi. Koru builds on
everything our five million members love about loyalty, shaped and inspired by their feedback.”
Introducing Koru Black
Koru Black is the new highly anticipated top-earned tier designed to recognise Air New Zealand’s
most loyal members with an elevated level of recognition and rewards. To qualify, members must
earn over 3,200 Status Points, including 1,920 from qualifying flights in a year.
“To say thank you for the continued support of our most frequent flyers, and the miles they’ve
travelled with us, we’re gifting a selection of rewards to those who qualify for Koru Black between
now and April 2026, before they officially move to their new tier,” Ravishankar says.
Koru Black members can expect:
• An additional Recognition Upgrade and short haul Recognition Upgrade from today
• Access to an Express Lane trial for aviation security screening at Auckland Domestic Airport
between 19-28 November

dependants

8
“Reaching Koru Black often means flying further, travelling more often, and spending time away
from home. Koru Black members have trusted us with their journeys time and time again and we
want to recognise that loyalty with something truly special – the ability to share their travel
experience," says Ravishankar.
“Koru Circle lets members share some of the comfort, care, and recognition of Koru Black with
friends and whānau. Travel is most meaningful when it’s shared and Koru Circle helps our most
frequent flyers extend some of their benefits to the people who matter most."
Full programme refresh
The transition to Koru brings refreshed tiers, additional recognition and a clearer journey for every
member.
More on the horizon for Koru
This transformation is just the beginning of a broader evolution in how Air New Zealand recognises
and rewards loyalty.
“There’s more on the horizon including introducing new partners, delivering new and exclusive ways
to fly with Air New Zealand using Airpoints, and new opportunities to earn Airpoints and Status
Points to ensure our members get even more value from every journey," says Ravishankar.
“Our members have helped shape this programme through every journey, every piece of feedback,
and every moment they’ve chosen to fly with us.
“We’re incredibly grateful for that loyalty and we can’t wait to welcome our members into this new
era.”

Air New Zealand announces new non-stop route 17 November 2025
between Queenstown and Brisbane
Air New Zealand is set to make it even easier for Kiwi travellers to swap snow for sand and enjoy
some Queensland sunshine, today announcing a new non-stop seasonal service between
Queenstown and Brisbane.
Launching 22 June 2026, the new route will operate three times a week through to 23 October 2026,
perfectly timed for those seeking a mid-year escape or a spring break across the Tasman.
Operated by Air New Zealand’s A320neo narrowbody jet, the service will offer over 17,000 seats,
providing a convenient link between the Southern Alps and sunny Queensland.
Air New Zealand General Manager Short Haul and Domestic Lucy Hall says the new route will open
more opportunities for travel in both directions.
“We know Queenstown is a year-round favourite for Australians, and this connection will also help
bring more visitors to our region during the ski and adventure season. It gives Queenslanders
another direct option to fly into the South Island, giving them the ability to explore Queenstown, the
wider Otago region, and more of the beautiful South Island.
“Brisbane is also a fantastic destination for South Islanders looking to swap the snow for sunshine.
This new service connects two iconic lifestyle destinations, giving travellers greater flexibility and
choice when planning their next getaway.”
“Air New Zealand is our biggest customer and we are delighted it is bringing back Queenstown-
Brisbane flights,” says Queenstown Airport Chief Executive Shane O’Hare.
“There are strong ties between our communities, and this service will be welcomed on both sides
of the Tasman. The morning flight time will be great for those wanting to catch up with friends and
family, and convenient for those with onward connections from Brisbane.”
The Queenstown–Brisbane route adds to Air New Zealand’s strong trans-Tasman network,
reinforcing the airline’s commitment to connecting New Zealanders with more destinations across
Australia, and welcoming more Australians to explore Aotearoa.
To celebrate the route launch, Air New Zealand has sale fares currently available for flights across
the Tasman. Customers can currently book flights from Queenstown to Brisbane for $275 seat only
one way*.

Non-stop flights to paradise: Air New Zealand announces new 3 November 2025
Christchurch to Rarotonga route
Air New Zealand is turning up the heat for South Islanders next winter, announcing new non-stop
flights between Christchurch and Rarotonga, giving travellers a direct route to sunshine, sand and
sea – no stopover required.
10
From May through to October 2026, the new seasonal service will operate up to three times a week,
with flights departing Christchurch at 3:40pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and
departing from Rarotonga at 11:30pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
With 18,000 seats available to book across the season, there will be plenty of opportunities for
Cantabrians to jet off to paradise during the winter months.
The launch marks another milestone in Air New Zealand’s commitment to growing international
connectivity from Christchurch, giving South Islanders even more reasons to head straight for their
holiday.
Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Nikhil Ravishankar says the new route strengthens the
airline’s dedication to growing travel opportunities from the South Island.
“We’ve seen strong appetite for travel to Rarotonga from our Christchurch customers, so this is
fantastic news for the South Island. Launching this direct service ahead of the July school holidays
makes it even easier for families to trade frosty mornings for tropical sunshine.
“Christchurch continues to strengthen its position as a key international gateway, and we’re thrilled
to be part of that growth story. Every new route we launch from the South Island opens up more
opportunities for our customers and connects our communities to the world.”
Justin Watson Chief Executive Christchurch airport says, “South Islanders love escaping to
Rarotonga, and this new direct flight makes that even easier. It’s another great step in growing
international options for our airport, helping more people reach their favourite destinations
seamlessly.”
Flights are available to book from Wednesday 5 November at www.airnewzealand.co.nz, subject
to regulatory approval.
Air New Zealand backs Aotearoa with support for 19 regional events 29 October 2025
Air New Zealand is proudly backing its own backyard, supporting 19 regional events across
Aotearoa through its Regional Events Sponsorship programme, a nationwide initiative celebrating
the people, places, and passions that make New Zealand thrive.
By sponsoring these events, Air New Zealand is supporting tourism and helping to drive economic
growth across the motu – helping bring more visitors into regional New Zealand and strengthening
local economies through increased tourism activity. This investment supports both regional and
national economic development, ensuring that communities right across the country benefit from
opportunity these events create.
From the wild coastlines of the West Coast to the vineyards of Hawke’s Bay, and from Northland’s
foodie havens to the cultural celebrations of Matariki in Ōtepoti, the airline is helping showcase the
best of Aotearoa’s creativity, community, and connection.
Air New Zealand Chief Executive Officer Nikhil Ravishankar says the airline is proud to support the
work being delivered by event organisers across the country.
“These events showcase the very best of our regions. They bring people together, tell our stories,
and celebrate the incredible talent and hospitality found right across Aotearoa.
11
“Air New Zealand has always been about connection – not just getting people from A to B, but
helping Kiwi discover the magic in their own backyard. These events don’t just showcase the
incredible creativity and spirit of our regions, they help attract visitors, boost local economies, and
celebrate what makes each part of Aotearoa unique. We’re proud to play a role in driving tourism
and supporting the communities that make New Zealand such a special place to call home.”
By being selected to participate in the programme, each event receives tailored support from Air
New Zealand. From flights, to marketing and promotional activity, the selected events have received
a three-year commitment, offering certainty and room to grow.
Events were selected to cover a diverse range of industries and sectors – including food and wine,
sport, fashion, and arts. The airline is backing events that regions across Aotearoa are proud to
showcase – helping them draw more visitors, extend their reach, and grow their impact.
Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston was thrilled with Air New Zealand’s initiative to
encourage more visitors to explore the regions.
“The Government has been laser-focused on growing tourism in New Zealand, and one of the best
ways to do that is by inspiring people to travel beyond our main centres. When visitors spend time
in our smaller towns and regions, they’re supporting local cafes, businesses, and accommodation
providers, helping drive economic growth and create jobs. It’s great to see Air New Zealand backing
our regions and shining a light on the incredible people and experiences that make them so special.
I can’t wait to attend some of these events”
The airline’s Regional Events Fund reinforces Air New Zealand’s commitment to connecting New
Zealanders with each other and with the places they call home.
Christchurch–Adelaide flights take off as Air New Zealand 28 October 2025
expands trans-Tasman network
Air New Zealand is celebrating a new milestone in its trans-Tasman network with the launch of its
first-ever Christchurch–Adelaide service returning to Christchurch today.
The inaugural flight departed Christchurch on 27 October, linking New Zealand’s South Island
directly with South Australia.
The seasonal service will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays through to 27 March 2026,
with around 15,000 seats available for travellers across the season.
Operated by a narrowbody Airbus jet, the new route gives South Islanders more choice and
convenience when flying to Australia and opens the door for more Australian travellers to
experience the South Island’s world-class destinations.
Air New Zealand General Manager Short Haul, Lucy Hall, says:
“This new service is about more than just connecting two cities – it’s about strengthening tourism
and connections between South Australia and the South Island.
“We’re excited to welcome more Australians to explore our beautiful South Island, from its world-
class food and wine to its adventure and nature experiences. At the same time, this route gives
12
Cantabrians even more convenient access to Australia – our most popular international destination
– for holidays, events, and reconnecting with friends and family across the Tasman.”
Christchurch Airport Chief Executive, Justin Watson, says:
“This service is another fabulous addition to our trans-Tasman network. It builds on a strong civic
and regional connection and supports more Kiwis and Aussies to explore each other’s backyards
all summer.”
Adelaide Airport Managing Director, Brenton Cox, says:
“We’re proud to celebrate the launch of Adelaide’s first direct flight to Christchurch this morning —
a milestone that responds to strong demand between our sister cities. Nearly 50,000 people travel
between Adelaide and the South Island each year, primarily for holidays or to visit family. This new
non-stop service offers a seamless gateway to world-class destinations on both sides of the
Tasman, making travel more convenient and appealing for South Australians and New Zealanders
alike.”
New Zealand Tourism and Hospitality Minister Louise Upston, says:
“Direct connections like this one make a real difference to our tourism industry and to our regional
economies. It’s fantastic to see Air New Zealand continuing to strengthen ties with Australia,
supporting tourism growth on both sides of the Tasman and making it easier for visitors to
experience everything New Zealand has to offer.”
South Australian Minister for Tourism, Hon Zoe Bettison MP, says:
“It is terrific news for tourism in South Australia to be launching the first-ever direct flight from New
Zealand’s South Island to Adelaide.
“More direct flights into Adelaide from New Zealand – currently our State’s fourth largest tourism
market – means more potential visitors coming to experience all our State has to offer.
“The direct Air New Zealand service from Christchurch is the first in a series of exciting arrivals of
new routes and new airlines through to the end of the year – strengthening the world’s connection
to South Australia and seeing more international airlines servicing Adelaide than ever before.”
