Online Casino Licence Update
SkyCity Entertainment Group Limited (SkyCity) is pleased to advise that it is a successful
participant in the auction for the allocation of the rights to apply for online casino gambling
licences under the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026.
SkyCity was a successful participant for the right to apply for two licences in the auction,
with a licence fee payable of NZ$15 million (excluding GST) per licence. SkyCity will now
proceed with the application process ahead of next year's market opening.
SkyCity Chief Executive Officer, Jason Walbridge, said:
“We are excited to have been successful in the auction to apply for two licences and to be
taking the next step towards entering the online casino gambling market in New Zealand.
We know New Zealanders trust the SkyCity brand, and we will combine that trust with our
deep knowledge of the New Zealand market to build a successful online business here.”
