Sky extends Australian Open partnership through to 2032
Sky New Zealand has secured a six-year extension of its longstanding partnership with Tennis
Australia, retaining New Zealand broadcast rights to the Australian Open through to 2032.
Sky will continue to deliver comprehensive coverage of the Australian Open across Sky Sport and Sky
Sport Now, and from 2027 free-to-air coverage will also include Three and ThreeNow.
Adam Crothers, Sky Head of Content Partnerships, said: “The Australian Open is one of the premier
tennis events and has long been part of summer viewing for New Zealanders. We’re delighted to
extend our partnership with Tennis Australia for another six years, securing the content we know is
important to our audiences for the longer-term.”
“Our expanded reach also gives us more ways to bring the Australian Open to New Zealanders.
Alongside comprehensive coverage for Sky customers, we’ll showcase selected matches and
moments free-to-air on Three and ThreeNow, ensuring the tournament reaches an even broader
audience.”
Tennis Australia Chief Commercial Officer, Cedric Cornelis, said: “New Zealand has been a valued
market for the Australian Open for many years and Sky has played an important role in bringing the
Australian Open to Kiwi fans for more than two decades. This agreement will help us continue to
grow the tournament's reach and connect even more fans with the excitement of the summer of
tennis.”
The agreement continues Sky’s 25-year partnership with Tennis Australia, with the extension also
including the New Zealand broadcast rights to the Laver Cup and United Cup.
