The Trust is established for any purposes within New Zealand (whether relating to the relief of poverty, the advancement of education or religion or any other matter beneficial to the community) which are charitable according to the laws of New Zealand and relate to the cultural and social development of Ngati Whatua Orakei and are for the benefit of the Members of Ngati Whatua Orakei, including: (a) the fostering of all aspects of Ngati Whatua Orakei tikanga, reo, kawa and korero; (b) the provision of support and assistance to Members of Ngati Whatua Orakei in respect of education, housing including provision of social rental and/or affordable rental, health care, aged care and relief of those suffering from mental or physical sickness or disability; (c) the development and enhancement of community facilities and mechanisms for the benefit of Ngati Whatua Orakei; (d) the provision of funding to the Hapu for the cultural and social development of the Hapu
