How this is sourced

Each NZ retail managed fund publishes a Quarterly Fund Update (QFU) on the FMA Disclose register. The QFU includes a top-10 investments table. ManagedFundsNZ's crawler downloads each QFU PDF, extracts the holdings table via spatial PDF parsing, and writes the data into the shared Supabase table fund_quarterly_updates.top_holdings.

This page filters that table for funds whose top-10 includes a holding name that matches the issuer name in NZXplorer’s issuers table (corporate suffixes stripped, then a whole-word prefix match, so “Welltower Inc” does not match Tower Limited). Cash accounts and bonds are excluded.

Why this is different from NZX SSH data: Substantial Shareholder Notices (SSH) only fire when a holder crosses 5% of the issued shares. Most fund positions are well below that threshold — visible here, invisible in SSH disclosures.
