Andrew Lane has more than 30 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical industry. He was appointed Independent Non-Executive Director of AFT Pharmaceuticals on 28 September 2023. Most recently, Andrew served as Global President of the Pharma Division at Abbott Laboratories, where he led a multi-billion-dollar operation with 30 manufacturing plants, 12 Innovation and Development sites, and 40,000 staff covering more than 100 countries. During his tenure, turnover grew from NZ$4 billion to over NZ$9 billion. Previously, he was Vice President, Asia Pacific at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, managing operations in 12 countries including three factories and 2,000 staff. Prior to Abbott and Takeda, he had a 20-year career in developing countries with Nycomed, Invida/DKSH, Novartis, and Sandoz. Andrew's expertise spans finance, manufacturing, sales, marketing, strategy, and general management at regional and global levels. He holds an Accounting/Business Management degree from Auckland University of Technology (1988-1991).
