Dr Peter Meintjes is an experienced molecular diagnostics and genomics business leader. He is a New Zealand citizen who relocated from Boston to Dunedin to join Pacific Edge. Peter started his business career in New Zealand with Auckland-based Biomatters, a bio-informatics company. He then spent six years with Budapest-based Omixon, holding senior roles in both Hungary and the US, including three years as Chief Executive Officer, during which he presided over rapid expansion with compound annual revenue growth of more than 75%. Most recently, he served as Chief Commercial Officer at Eurofins-Transplant Genomics in Massachusetts, where he led the commercialisation of the company's suite of tests for biomarkers of organ rejection, including TruGraf, the only biomarker test for kidney transplant recipients approved for reimbursement by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Peter was appointed CEO of Pacific Edge in January 2022, bringing extensive global diagnostics, biotechnology, and commercial leadership expertise with a track record for commercialising new and disruptive biotechnologies. He holds a PhD in biological sciences from Auckland University (2008).
