Attached is Meridian Energy Limited's monthly operating report for the month ended 31 January 2017.
Highlights this month include:
 In the month to 13 February 2017, national hydro storage increased from 109% to 120% of historical
average
 South Island storage sat at 119% of average and North Island storage at 132% of average on 13
February 2017
 Meridian’s January 2017 monthly inflows were 123% of historical average
 Meridian’s Waitaki catchment storage at the end of January 2017 was 118% of historical average
 National electricity demand in January 2017 was 0.3% higher than the same month last year
 January demand reflected contrasting rainfall and soil moisture levels in the North and South Islands
 Meridian’s retail sales volumes in January 2017 increased by 4.8% compared to January 2016
