Metro Glass CEO to leave company in March 2018
NZX and ASX Release 14 December 2017
Metro Glass CEO to leave company in March 2018
After five years with Metro Performance Glass (MPG), current CEO and Executive Director, Nigel Rigby has
advised the Board of his decision to leave the company effective 31 March 2018 (financial year end).
“Nigel has made a significant and valued contribution to the transformation and growth of the business,” says
MPG Chairman Peter Griffiths.
“Nigel joined the company at a challenging time and the past five years have been particularly busy and
intense. He led the business through the IPO and has driven Metro Glass forward with massive enthusiasm
and energy. He has been key to the introduction of new products,
new channels, new business segments and
a significant new market in Australia,” says Peter. “The Board thanks him for his valued contribution and we
wish him well for the future.”
Nigel says, “After five transformative years, the time is right to move on and make way for a different leader
to
take the company on the next stage of its journey.”
Peter Griffiths says the Board has confidence in the leadership team, which remains focused on operating the
business and will be integral in managing the transition period.
“There is deep manufacturing, sales and marketing expertise in the team and MPG
will continue to deliver for
our customers.
“Our long‐term manufacturing improvement programme will continue unaffected and the capital works
programme will be completed by 31 March 2018,” he says.
The Board will be commencing an international recruitment process immediately.
“We’re looking for a leader who appreciates the totality of
our business and our unique place in the NZ and
Australian building sectors. We have a team of committed and motivated people and it will be important for
our incoming CEO to build on the expertise inherent in the business and the momentum that Nigel has built to
date.“
