Heartland Announces Changes to Board of Directors of Heartland Bank
29 March 2019
Heartland Group Holdings Limited (NZX/ASX: HGH) (Heartland) is pleased to announce the
appointment of Kate Morrison as an independent director of subsidiary, Heartland Bank Limited
(Heartland Bank), effective today.
Prior to moving to New Zealand in 2014, Kate spent 20 years working in investment banking in the
United Kingdom, with firms including Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and, most recently, Deutsche
Bank, where she held a variety of senior client coverage and management roles in the areas of
financial risk management, structured financing and investments. She now co-runs a Christchurch-
based consulting business, advising SMEs on succession planning, strategy and governance, as well
as holding directorships with a number of companies including Christchurch International Airport,
The New Zealand Merino Company and FarmRight.
Heartland also wishes to announce the retirement of existing Heartland Bank director, Graham
Kennedy, effective today. Graham has served on the Board of Heartland Bank since its inception in
2011. Prior to that, Graham was for many years a director and chair of Canterbury Building Society
(CBS Canterbury), one of Heartland Bank’s predecessor entities.
“Graham was a strong supporter of the merger that led to the creation of Heartland,” said Heartland
Chair, Geoff Ricketts. “Graham has since been a very valuable director and made a significant
contribution to Heartland Bank. We thank him for his long service to Heartland and its predecessors
and wish him all the best for the future.”
