Meridian announces departure of Chief Customer Officer

Meridian Energy Limited today announced that Julian Smith, the Chief Customer Officer, has resigned.
Neal Barclay, the Chief Executive, said that Mr Smith has decided to leave the business for personal
reasons.
“Julian has led a rapid transformation of our retail businesses as well as industry-leading reforms around
removing Prompt Payment Discounts to ensure fairer power pricing for NZ households. He has built a
sustainable platform to deliver profitable retail growth, increasing market share and margin, while
delivering industry-leading customer satisfaction. We thank Julian for his significant contribution to the
business, said Mr Barclay.
Mr Smith will leave the company on 4 October 2019.
