SALE OF SHARES FROM TREASURY

The Company announces the sale of 100,000 ordinary shares of 25p each from
shares held in treasury, at a price of 1009.0p per share.

Following this issue, the Company’s share capital is as follows:

Ordinary shares in issue with voting rights: 122,756,783
Ordinary shares held in treasury: 1,188,509
Total issued share capital: 123,945,292

With effect from today, the total number of voting rights in the Company is
30,689,195 (1 vote for every 4 shares held excluding treasury shares). This figure
may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they
will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to their
interest in, The Bankers Investment Trust PLC under the FCA’s Disclosure Guidance
and Transparency Rules.
