Refining NZ appoints Chief Operating Officer


Refining NZ has appointed Mr Andrew Brewer to the role of Chief Operating Officer effective from 16

March 2020.


Mr Brewer brings a wealth of experience from the refining sector to the role having spent the last 18

years with Caltex/Chevron in Australia and Canada in refinery and supply leadership roles, including

as the Manager of the Kurnell, Lytton and Burnaby refineries. He was most recently the Executive

General Manager, Transformation. Prior to that he was the Executive General Manager responsible

for Fuel Supply Chain.


Managing Director, Paul Zealand described the role - the first ever for Refining NZ– as a critical

addition to the management team.


“As Chief Operating Officer Andrew will have responsibility for all onsite execution and improvement

activities at Marsden Point. He will report to me as the acting CEO during the transition to the new

CEO Naomi James, who is due to take up the role in April.”


Said Mr Zealand: “This is an exciting appointment for the Refinery and we look forward to having

Andrew on board.”
