»The Customer business recorded:

•Mass market electricity and gas sales of 300 GWh(April 2019:

337 GWh)

•Mass market electricity and gas netback of $95.66/MWh(April

2019: $86.47/MWh)

»The Wholesale business recorded:

•Contracted Wholesale electricity sales, including that sold to

the Customer business, totalled 548 GWh(April 2019: 673

GWh)

•Electricity and steam net revenueof $79.81/MWh(April 2019:

$75.60/MWh)

•Electricity generated (or acquired) of 585 GWh(April 2019: 792

GWh)

•The unit generation cost, which includes acquired generation

was $24.89/MWh(April 2019: $33.62/MWh)

•Own generation cost in the month of $21.42/MWh(April

2019: $29.73/MWh)

»Otahuhufutures settlement wholesale price for

the 3

rd

quarter of 2020 (ASX):

•As at 13 May 2020: $92/MWh

•As at 30 April 2020: $88/MWh

•As at 31 March 2020: $99/MWh

»As at 13 May 2020, South Island controlled

storage was 106% of mean (30 April 2020:

100%) and North Island controlled storage was

60% of mean (30 April 2020: 54%)

•As at 13 May 2020, total Clutha scheme

storage (including uncontrolled storage)

was 110% of mean

•Inflows into Contact’s Clutha catchment

for April 2020 were 83% of mean (March

2020: 90%, February 2020: 189%,

January 2020: 68%)

»New Zealand electricity demand was down 13.7% on April 2019 (down 13.5% on

April 2018), COVID-19 L4 and L3 lockdown were in place throughout April:

•Cumulative 12 months demand for May 2019 to April 2020 of 41,297 GWh is

down by 0.5% on the prior comparative period.
