Metroglass COVID‐19 update – Victoria, Australia
Metroglass today provided an update on the impact of the Victorian Government’s latest restrictions to prevent
the spread of COVID‐19.
Australian Glass Group’s Melbourne operations to remain open
The Victorian Government has announced additional COVID‐19 Stage 4 restrictions for a six‐week period
beginning at midnight this Friday
1
. While further guidance on the restrictions is still being released, Australian
Glass Group’s (AGG) Melbourne based plant is expected to continue operating during this period.
For several months, AGG has had strict operating guidelines in place to help our staff, contractors, suppliers and
customers stay safe. These initiatives include working
from home where possible, social distancing when on site,
the use of face masks and regular cleaning schedules. AGG is reviewing its COVID‐19 safety plan to ensure full
compliance with the most recent Government requirements.
The Victorian Government restrictions allow for a reduced number of workers on both residential
and
commercial construction sites. Whilst we expect construction work and demand for glass products in
metropolitan Melbourne to reduce over the next six weeks, activity in regional Victoria and interstate is expected
to continue largely unaffected.
This continues to be an evolving situation and further updates will be made in due
course should the operating
situation move materially from this position.
