Sky’s fresh approach to leadership

28 April 2021

Sky Chief Executive Sophie Moloney has today announced changes to the leadership

approach at Sky.

The changes include a smaller Executive and a flatter structure where the next generation of

Sky’s leaders are empowered to deliver on clear outcomes, collaborate with each other, and

spend every day focusing on how to best offer Sky customers great sport and entertainment

in ways that work for them.

Sophie commented “We are very clear at Sky that what matters most is our customers. That

means that every decision we make starts with the customer and how we improve the

experience and value they get from Sky. That focus extends to the way we are structured as

a business, and I have today confirmed a new approach to the leadership of Sky that ensures

every team shares the responsibility for understanding and meeting customer need and

executing on our strategy.”

“I believe our future success lies in Sky being nimble, quick on our feet and focused on

execution. We operate in a competitive market, and we need to be as efficient as we can

be. Our organisational changes are designed to ensure that every team is focused on

delivery, efficiency, meeting customer needs and achieving clear goals.”

The smaller Executive will comprise of Chief Executive Sophie Moloney, Chief Financial

Officer Andrew Hirst (interim), Chief People and Operations Officer Michael Frampton, Chief

Commercial Officer Jonny Errington, and a Chief Customer Delivery Officer (to be

appointed). A small number of strategic roles, including External Affairs (Chris Major) and

Technology (Prabhu Singh), will report directly to the Chief Executive.

The broader team of Sky leaders will report to the Executive, and will focus on enabling

customer-facing teams to deliver.

As part of the changes Sky is farewelling Chief Customer Officer Chaz Savage and Chief

Creative Officer Steve Bayliss. Steve and Chaz have been a significant part of Sky’s

turnaround efforts in the last 18 months, and they have developed exceptional teams to

drive the work forward. They leave with Sky’s gratitude and best wishes.

The new Executive team and key Sky leaders look forward to sharing more details of the Sky

strategy and execution plans at the Investor Day on 2 June 2021.
