Senior Executive Retirement

John Hepworth, who heads up Mainfreight’s Americas region, has announced his intention to
retire by the end of September 2021. His successor will be appointed from within the business
and will be announced in due course.

John’s tenure with Mainfreight spans more than 22 years after his business ISS Express Lines
was acquired by Mainfreight in 1998. In his early days, John predominantly worked on the
international side of the business, in a variety of roles, including time with CaroTrans USA.
In May 2008, he left his Australia-based International Manager role (overseeing our growing
international businesses across Australia, New Zealand, USA and Asia), to head up our recent
acquisition, Target USA. John managed Target’s assimilation into what has become
Mainfreight Americas, our principal operation for Transport, Warehousing and Air & Ocean
services in the region, and which now incorporates branches across the United States and in
Canada, Mexico and Chile.

Mainfreight Americas will celebrate its 15-year anniversary in 2022, and thanks to John’s and
our team’s efforts, we are now well-positioned to significantly develop our business across the
region.

We wish John well in his retirement, and acknowledge his significant contribution over his time
with Mainfreight. He leaves with a huge vote of thanks for all he has accomplished for us.
