Appointment of Director

The Board of Scales Corporation Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Miranda Burdon,
as an independent non-executive director of the company. Miranda’s appointment is effective from 31
August 2022.

Miranda has over 20 years executive and entrepreneurial experience, centred on fast moving
consumer goods in New Zealand and globally, including as the Global Marketing Manager for Pernod
Ricard and Brand Manager for NZ Dairy Foods.

Miranda is based in Auckland and is currently Chair of Meadow Mushrooms, Emerging Proteins NZ,
an organization that seeks to accelerate the development of a thriving emerging proteins sector in
New Zealand, and Live Ocean, a New Zealand based ocean conservation charity. Miranda is also the
former CEO of Global Women.

In 2019 Miranda co-founded Food Nation, a New Zealand based food manufacturer that develops
plant-powered products in order to support a shift in diets and, by association, food systems.

Miranda holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from Otago University and a Bachelor of Arts in
International Relations from Victoria University. In addition, Miranda studied Strategic Marketing at
Harvard Business School and is an alumna of Stanford University’s Te Hono Bootcamp programme.

brand management. Miranda’s skills will strengthen the Board and add a fresh perspective in these
crucial areas. Miranda’s appointment is also a very successful first step in the director succession
process that the Board embarked on in 2021”.

In accordance with Scales’ constitution, Miranda will retire from office at the next Scales’ Annual
Shareholders’ Meeting and will be eligible for election at that meeting. The Board has determined that
Miranda will be an independent director.
