Sean Gourley to join Serko Board as non-executive director
Appointment supports Serko’s international growth, innovation and data focus

Serko (ASX & NZX: SKO) today announces the appointment of technology entrepreneur,
Dr Sean Gourley as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 February 2024.
Dr Gourley has established and grown two ground-breaking Silicon Valley technology businesses.
In 2015, he founded Primer, an AI and machine learning company with clients including Fortune
100 companies and large US government agencies. Dr Gourley was Primer’s CEO from 2015 to
2023. Primer’s software allows organisations to securely deploy the latest AI capabilities into
their data environments. It also improves situational awareness for defence and intelligence
operators and reduces decision-making times in mission critical applications.
Prior to founding Primer, Dr Gourley co-founded and was CTO at Quid, an AI-powered data
visualisation company. In his early career, he was a research scientist at NASA and a research
fellow at the University of Oxford where he published ground-breaking research into the
mathematics of war in leading science journal, Nature. He also served on the board of Anadarko
Petroleum, a US based Fortune 500 energy company, from 2015 until its acquisition in 2019.

underpinned by excellence in customer experience.”
Dr Gourley has a Master of Science majoring in physics from the University of Canterbury (NZ)
and a PhD in physics from the University of Oxford, which he attended as a Rhodes Scholar.
The Board has determined that Dr Gourley will be an independent director for the purposes of the
NZX Listing Rules. Dr Gourley will stand for election at Serko’s 2024 annual shareholders’
meeting.
