AUCKLAND, NZ [11 DEC 2024] - Scott Technology (NZX:SCT) has secured its largest-ever appliance

automation contract in China. Valued at CN¥85 million (approximately NZ$20 million), this contract

with a prominent global Chinese whiteware manufacturer, involves several projects, including the

automation of top and front loader production lines.

“The appliance sector plays a key role in Scott’s global growth strategy and demonstrates our ability

to deliver advanced automation solutions that meet the evolving needs of world-leading customers,”

says Mike Christman, CEO of Scott Technology. “This achievement reflects the outstanding capabilities

of our China team - their commitment to excellence and innovation drives our success in this

important market.”

The contract is with a long-standing Scott Technology customer, a partnership that has grown since

2000, during which Scott has delivered nine advanced production lines. Scott’s appliance business

unit, led out of China and supported by Christchurch, specialises in designing and manufacturing

automation systems tailored to the needs of leading global appliance manufacturers. These systems

span a variety of applications, including production lines for cooking systems, laundry equipment, and

refrigeration units.

“The whiteware market in China is evolving rapidly, driven by growing consumer demand for high-

quality, energy-efficient appliances,” says Cathy Zhang, Regional Director China, Scott Technology. “To

meet these expectations, manufacturers globally are prioritising advanced automation to enhance

efficiency and sustainability in production. This partnership demonstrates Scott Technology’s ability

to stay ahead of these trends, delivering innovative solutions that align with the future of appliance

manufacturing.”

Cathy Zhang, Regional Director for Scott Technology in China, operates from Scott's facility in Qingdao,

situated within the SCO Green Low Carbon Industrial Park in Jiaozhou. Officially opened in 2023, the
