Update on Ferguson Street fire incident

UPDATE ON FERGUSON STREET FIRE INCIDENT

Yesterday afternoon an area near the Copthorne Hotel Palmerston North was affected by a fire incident
which caused damage to buildings which were not in use but were previously part of the hotel's operation.
The damage is yet to be assessed but it is likely that the remaining structures will need to be demolished.

The fire has been extinguished but the site is being monitored. The cause of the incident remains
unknown at this stage as an investigation has been commenced by Fire and Emergency New Zealand
(FENZ). MCK would like to thank the fire crews who attended the scene very quickly after the alarm was
raised.

Guests and staff at the hotel were not injured as a result of the incident. Some guests were relocated to
other hotels as a safety measure last evening. The hotel is now open and has resumed trading,

There is unlikely to be any significant impact on MCK's operational or financial position as a result of the
incident.

A further update will be provided when more information becomes available.
