Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Minerals Exploration Limited (Minerals Exploration or the Company) (ASX: MEX, NZX:
MEX) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jason Beckton as a Non-Executive
Director of the Company, effective immediately.
Mr Beckton graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree from Melbourne
University and also a Masters of Economic Geology from the University of Tasmania. He
is a professional geologist and a Member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists,
with over 30 years’ experience in exploration, project development, production and
management in Australia and internationally. Relevant experience in Epithermal Gold
systems such as the Company’s North Island projects, includes in the Mexican Sierra
Madre and the Western Tethyan Belt of Europe. Mesothermal experience as per the
Company’s South Island projects include time in the Goldfields of Western Australia and
Victoria.
Mr Beckton was a founder of Otagold Limited (Otagold), which was acquired by the
Company in July 2025. He was integral in Otagold’s acquisition of the flagship
brownfields Waitekauri Gold Project and had been monitoring gold projects in New
Zealand since 2014.
Mr Beckton commenced his career with Pancontinental and Goldfields Ltd throughout
Australia from the early 1990s before moving to a senior role with Gympie Gold in 2001.
Subsequently, he was Project Manager for the Palmarejo silver-gold project in Mexico
during 2004. More recently, Mr Beckton was Manager – Chile for Exeter Resource
Corporation and, in 2007, led the team that was responsible for the commercial
discovery at the Caspiche Porphyry prospect in the Maricunga Gold Copper Belt of Chile.
Mr Beckton is also currently a Director of American Rare Earths Ltd (ASX:ARR), Lode
Resources Ltd (ASX:LDR), European Resources Ltd (ASX: ERE) and Cipango Japan.
Non-Executive Chairman, Norman Seckold commented on Mr Beckton’s appointment:
“I have known Jason for over twenty years and I had the great pleasure of working with
him through the exploration phase of Bolnisi Gold’s Palmarejo precious metals discovery,
in which he played a large part. He brings a deep knowledge of epithermal systems to
our Company, and we are strengthened as a result. I greatly look forward to working with
Jason again.”
