Update on impact of Ex-Cyclone Gita
21 February 2018
New Zealand King Salmon (NZX and ASX:NZK) Market Update 21 February 2018
Update on the impact of ex-Cyclone Gita
All team members are safe and accounted for. There has been no damage to any NZ King Salmon
facilities, nor has there been any loss of fish from the storm.
Our hatchery at Te Waikorupupū Springs near Takaka is currently isolated, as is the rest of the
Golden Bay region, due to road closures on the Takaka Hill. Operating on backup generators
overnight, electricity has now been restored. Depending on the timing of road re-opening we will
have contingency plans available for moving feed or other required supplies by alternative means.
Road closures and air or road supply chain disruptions in other parts of New Zealand are expected to
only cause minor temporary impact.
At this point we don’t anticipate any material short or long term impact on our business.
