GLOBALLY-REGARDED AND EXPERIENCED BUSINESSMAN PHILIP BOWMAN TO CHAIR SKY

Following the retirement of long-standing Chairman Peter Macourt, Philip Bowman has

been appointed Chair of Sky, effective 1 September 2019.

CEO Martin Stewart welcomed the appointment, saying “Mr Bowman is an experienced and

distinguished businessman who has led several major global companies and served on the

board of a significant number of public and private companies. He brings knowledge of the

media sector, including having served on the board of Sky UK for ten years.

“We are delighted that someone of Philip’s calibre and experience is joining the Sky board,

and look forward to working with him.”

As signalled at last year’s AGM, Peter Macourt is standing down as Chair at the end of this

month. He will remain a Director on the board until the AGM in October.

“Peter Macourt has served on the Sky board for 17 years, and we are grateful for his

considerable contribution to our business. We will acknowledge his service more fully

when we farewell him later this year, but for now we thank him for his expert guidance and

commitment to Sky.”
