Q: What is a DCF model?

A Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model estimates the intrinsic value of a company by projecting its future free cash flows and discounting them back to present value using a weighted average cost of capital (WACC).

Q: How is WACC calculated for NZX companies?

WACC is estimated using the RBNZ Official Cash Rate (2.25%) as the risk-free rate, a 5.5% NZ equity risk premium, sector-specific betas, and a 1.5% small market premium. Cost of debt is estimated at OCR + 2% spread, after 28% NZ corporate tax.
