Consumption at Tiwai Point’s fourth potline to begin

20 September 2018

Following our announcement on 1 May 2018 Meridian Energy has today been notified by NZAS that the conditions in

the contract* have been satisfied i.e. the confirmations and exemptions required from the Electricity Authority, the

Clearing Manager and Transpower have been received. Accordingly, Meridian expects NZAS’s fourth potline to be

energised shortly. Any electricity consumed at the fourth potline on or after 24

th

September 2018 will trigger the effective

date of the contract.
